4° Evento de Arte Correo en el MAC - MailArt project

Once more I've participated at an Argentinian MailArt project, now at the 4° Evento de Arte Correo en el Museo de Arte Cañadense (MAC) by Rosa Gravino, Cañada de Gómez, Argentina.

I am one of the selected artists who will participate at the 3ª Entremostras na Fundação Cultural Badesc em Florianópolis - SC, Brasil. The event will be at August 23rd.

A obra é inspirado no filme "2001: A Space Odyssey" de Stanley Kubrick e é composto por várias C-prints de 9x13cm que são fixadas juntos com grampos. Nas fotos são monolitos, que nadam em gordura.

A fotocolagem é composto por vários C-Prints de 9x13cm. Eu usei grampos, linhas de costura e um clipe de papel para o suporte-los juntos.

A fotocolagem é composto por 20 C-Prints de 10x15cm. Esta obra é um sanduíche (sandwich technique) com 20 imagens é mais uma camada com um auto-retrato.
Mostrado na "Mostra SESC de Arte Contemporânea - Aldeias: Mémorias e Identidades" no SESC Blumenau, Blumenau (SC), Brasil em 2011/2012.


"Fabricio é um artesão da fotografia. Artesão no sentido de dominar, selecionar e cuidar de todo o processo. Realiza um trabalho com diversas fotografias que no percurso de sua história são significativas. Nascido na Alemanha, esse artista que mora em Dr. Pedrinho dialoga entre dois mundos, que para ele se tornam um, materializados na sua vida, na sua existência. O tríptico é composto de 3 palimpsestos. Aqui o artista imprimi 3 auto-retratos em declarações antigas de contas, resp. biletes de informação, que vieram às vezes com o extracto de conta.

I like windows.......

Old windows are perfect to use them as picture frames. For luck I've an aunt, which had some old window frames and gave them to me... :)

One I'm using as bulletin board with the newest works and another I've used here. Now she gave me another two windows...

mini palimpsest on DIY-paper _part 2

Today I made a new mini palimpsest on DIY-paper triptych, which I call "the walking past".
It has this name, because I've used three black&white photos, which I made in Germany in 2005.

The first picture I shot with my Nikon TW Zoom 35-80 on Ilford Delta 100 film in Hannover.
The second photo is a self portrait, which I shot with my Canon T50 and the Canon 1.8/50mm lens on Ilford FP4+ 125 film in Leipzig.
And the last one I shot with my Porst Compact Reflex S and the Porst MC 1.7/50mm lens on Kodak BW400CN in Hannover.

In November 2012 I made this work with a mini palimpsest in the size of 6 x 9,5 cm, which is fixed on one of the DIY-paper sheets, which I made at the same time.

Now I'm making a triptych with the title "Licht - Moon - They came from inner space".
Just the three mini palimpsests are missing...

xylography palimpsest.

You can find crazy things on facebook and a few days ago I saw this instruction on the great page of "Reciclagem , Jardinagem e Decoração".
First I thought to use the xylography technique in combination with my DIY paper, but it doesn't work till now.
So I printed on other paper, therefore I call them "xylography palimpsests".

DIY PAPER PALIMPSEST

I had the idea to make paper for a long time and on Wednesday I finally started to collect newspapers and palimpsets, which I outsourced.
Of course I read some articles in the internet about DIY paper, but in the end I made my own shit, as always...
First I ripped the newspapers and palimpsests to pieces and then, on Thursday,  I blended it with water and used the mixer to make a sludge of it.
After this I used a sieve (well, it was a visor of an eye protection, which I used when I worked with my chainsaw) to dip the cellulose fiber out of the water...

In the past I thought that the manufacturing process would be complicated, but in fact it's really funny and easy...

At the next three pictures you can see a detail of a piece of paper, which survived the mixer. The detail shows the word "LICHT", which is German for light. I love this detail and it's really SERENDIPITY!!!

But then in the afternoon I made a great error! I put the papers on the ground, thereby the sun could dry them, but I've got two young dogs and yes, you know...they shredded the papers...

But okay I collected the pieces and at Friday morning I mixed the pieces with water and made the whole process one more time. But before of this I ripped some others outsourced palimpsests and compounded them with the cellulose fiber. Because I like the style with the details!!!
